AI Voice - Listen to 11 Labs

In this post we're going to talk about 11 labs.

There are a lot of text to speech programs out there that will turn your text into a realistic sounding voice where 11 labs is different is that they've been able to incorporate even more AI into their voice and have it it sound more realistic by adding pauses by adding inflectuation in a sense emotion there's more emotion in 11 labs voice than anything else we've seen thus far.

in in addition to really great voices 11 labs also has what's called an API an application program interface which just means that other programs can tie into 11 laps to produce the voice so there's some really interesting things you could do you could connect chat GPT 211 labs and have it give you spoken output or connect 11 labs API into some other program that you have It's just like a handy connection to allow you to control it from another program and it offers some very interesting setups .

11 laps now offers a voice cloning technique which has been seen in a lot of TikTok and YouTube videos I'm not sure how long that's going to stay around because of the fact that it can clone voices using just a little bit of original speech now of course they do ask you to click on a box verifying and swearing that that's really your voice but since people are not all that honest they've been using it to create voices of for example former presidents and then using the voices to pretend that they're playing an arcade game against one another as just one example a creative example to be sure but one that is causing issues in terms of intellectual property.

Here at the AI learning center we use 11 labs to help us produce blog posts like this in addition are very popular AI host Terrence has taken over for the high tech nomad for producing weekly podcasts It's a lot quicker and easier what we did the workflow is as follows we either randomly we either write out what we're going to say or I sort of just talk into something like Google docs as you may or may not know Google docs has a speech to text feature that once you turn it on you can just talk and it will convert it to text we then take that text and bring it into chat GPT to correct any grammas certify thoughts and add any nuances for example we normally add slightly humorous and or for non-technical people it then takes the document that we gave it rewrites it and gives us good clean output we then cut copy and paste that output and put that into 11 labs and voila a podcast like you're listening to right now
